- swing dancing and the related Lindy Hop, Black Bottom, Charleston, and Cakewalk
Funk Jazz
- Funk dance or funk styles refer to dance styles that are primarily danced to funk music
Street Jazz
- Street Jazz is commonly used specifically for the many hip hop dances and funk dance styles
Hip Hop Dance (Girl's Hip Hop)
- Hip hop dance comes from breakdancing, but does not consist wholly of breakdancing moves. Unlike most other forms of dance, which are often at least moderately structured, hip hop dance has few (if any) limitations on positions or steps.
Popping
- Popping is a funk dance and street dance style based on the technique of quickly contracting and relaxing muscles to cause a jerk in the dancer's body, referred to as a pop or a hit. This is done continuously to the rhythm of a song in combination with other mime-style movements.
Locking
- Locking (originally Campbellocking) is a comical street dance style. It relies on perfect timing and frequent "locking" of limbs in time with the music. Locking dancers ("lockers") have a distinctive dress style, resembling clowns or mimes.
